CEDEM is the infrastructure within Manresa City Council that brings together the different economic promotion and business development services within the municipality. Our mission is to contribute to balanced and sustainable economic development in Manresa and its area of influence by inspiring an entrepreneurial culture, encouraging the creation of companies, growth and the improvement of our productive network's competiveness, and diversifying this network by developing innovative new activities and sectors with high value-added services and products.

• Encourage the creation and growth of new companies and business projects.
• Ensure development, improved competitiveness and innovation in our productive network and our companies, paying special attention to small and micro companies.
• Promote our city and region abroad in order to capture new business investments for the territory.
• Encourage the development of the information society by promoting the knowledge and use of information technologies among the general public, with special attention given to social groups at risk from digital exclusion.
• Diversify our economic activity by developing new knowledge-intensive sectors with high added value.
• Provide drive and vitality the city's university project as an essential element in the city's competitiveness and in the development of the knowledge economy.
• Promote commerce and services, with a special emphasis on local community commerce, and improve and boost the attractiveness of Manresa as a major shopping centre in Central Catalonia.

CEDEM has a team of highly qualified professionals, facilities and installations required to execute its activities (general and specialised information, advisory and consultancy services, training, etc.) and offers a range of resources, such as physical spaces and telematic tools, to entrepreneurs and companies in the territory. CEDEM projects and services are managed according to quality management criteria that have been suitably accredited with ISO 9001:2008 certification.

CEDEM promotes cooperation and networking among the different institutions and agents in the territory associated with economic and business development. This cooperation is one of the most primary and essential aspects of our action and is reflected in the different roundtables for dialogue and cooperation organised and in the joint development projects undertaken. In this regard, mention should be made to the Local Innovation System roundtable that includes public administrations (the City Council and the Catalan Government through DIUE and ACC1Ó), technologic centres and universities, business organisations and specialised private foundations.
